End of Week Thirty – 16 February
0.8kg (1.8lb) weight loss

Total weight loss, to date
36.0kg (79.4lb / 5st 9.4lb)

Current weight – 73.9kg (11st 8.9lb)

That’s a reduction of 32.8% of my starting body weight.
Muscle Mass and Fat Mass are stable at 82.0% and 13.7% respectively.
Lean Mass is stable at 86.3%.

A return to gym classes after taking a break from them following my knee ‘injury’ on 1st January. 7am start for JD Burn (barbell row, crunches, 15kg squats, step ups, press ups, weighted lunges, skierg) – 50 seconds on each exercise with 10 second rest in between, x 3. Followed by JD Abs (plank, russian twists, crunches, situps, etc).

Back on the treadmill for the first time this year – just a light 15 minute session. Followed by a sauna.

Then going into a Personal Trainer session at JD – PULL DAY: SkiErg/Ball Slam/Kettlebell Deadlift superset (15 reps/cals x 4 sets, 30 seconds between sets), Barbell Row/TRX Row superset, low seated row, bicep/hammer curls. Again, followed by another short sauna 🙂

Also, haircut day which will then be followed by a visit to Ribby Hall Health Club.

And that brings to an end my fitness journey – as a 55 year old. Another year looms over me tomorrow 🙂 Onwards and upwards as I’m about to turn 56 feeling and looking fitter than I can ever remember!

My 56th Birthday.

I was going to do an early RowErg session early in the gym before driving over to Leeds for a Jaguar Meet but as JD doesn’t open until 8am at weekends I wasn’t able to make this happen.

Also, Matty the PT has abandoned me for a week whilst he enjoys himself in Portugal.

Another rowing session at JD followed by a visit to Ribby Hall Health Club.

In Matt’s absence it’s solo training sessions this week.

Starting the day with an early rowing session, followed by PUSH DAY: Bench press 50kg, SkiErg and push-ups superset, shoulder press, chest press, core (flutter kicks and leg raises), followed by a trip over to Ribby Hall for sauna, steam rooms and spa pool.

LEGS DAY: Rowing machine (warm-up), Barbell squat 10x40kg, 10x45kg, 3x10x50kg, weighted lunges, leg press, leg curl, hyperextensions, followed by a trip over to Ribby Hall for sauna, steam rooms and spa pool.

Another RowErg session at JD Gym, and another trip to Ribby Hall for sauna, steam rooms and spa pool.

In the morning, sports massage torture session with Andy the Physio.

In the afternoon, PULL DAY at JD: Bike (warm-up) SkiErg/Ball Slam/Kettlebell Deadlift superset (15 reps/cals x 4 sets, 30 seconds rest between sets), TRX Row, low seated row, lat pull down, bicep/hammer curls. Followed by a trip to Ribby Hall for sauna, steam rooms and spa pool.

An early start with a 0730 trip to JD for a 5K row, followed by a Sauna. Then I’m off to see clients and dropping in to Ribby Hall on the way home for more sauna, steam rooms and spa pool.

It’s been a good week in the gym. My first proper solo training sessions whilst Matt has been relaxing in the Algarve, definitely a confidence boost. But I am looking forward to having my personal trainer back with me on Saturday afternoon.
