It’s 0835 and I’m sitting in my car at the Blackpool Sports Centre car park, making good use of the heated seats and keeping warm before it’s time to head over to the Stanley Park clock tower and the start of my third ParkRun event.

0845 and it’s the now familiar walk towards the assembly point, the beacon that calls out to all Blackpool ParkRunners – The Cocker Clock Tower.

Bill came over for a chat. He remembered me from week 1 when we spent most of the 5km chatting towards the back of the pack. This week he was “Run Director”!

0900 After a few minutes it was time for Bill to step up on the Clock Tower and brief the waiting runners – about 270 of us this week – before lining up on the start line and setting us in motion.

That’s my actual gps trace.

And with that… we are on our way… two laps around the park, through the woodland, along the side of the lake – 5KM – and it’s another Personal Best 😀

1 minute 31 seconds quicker than last week!

That’s an improvement of 3 minutes 59 seconds since ParkRun #1 on 14 October.

That will do!

Check out Chalk Guy‘s inspirational artwork from around the Clock Tower this week…
